Before joining Hunter Search Global as a Finance & Accounting Recruiter, Nick Maggio built his recruiting career within the financial services industry, working with banks, investment firms, and other financial institutions throughout the New York market.
As a Recruiting Associate at Social Capital Resources, Nick gained experience managing the full recruiting process, from sourcing and initial candidate conversations through interview preparation, client coordination, and placement. Working across Credit, Risk, Compliance, AML/KYC, Treasury, Project Finance, Corporate Banking, Data Governance, and Commercial Real Estate Credit gave him a firsthand understanding of the specialized talent needs within the financial sector.
In his first year, Nick generated more than $265K in billings across 12 placements, including multiple AVP and VP-level hires. His placements ranged from a VP of Data Governance and AVP of Corporate Compliance, to senior professionals within Project Finance, Commercial Real Estate Credit, KYC, and Treasury.
Throughout that experience, Nick learned that successful recruiting requires understanding far more than what appears on a job description or resume.
Anyone can match experience to a list of qualifications. Nick believes the real work begins with understanding where an organization is going, the challenges its team is facing, and the type of person who can contribute to that bigger picture. He approaches candidates with the same mindset, taking the time to understand where they want their careers to go and identifying opportunities that offer greater responsibility, leadership, and impact.
That perspective is what Nick brings to Hunter Search Global, where he specializes in Finance & Accounting, Credit & Risk, Compliance, Corporate Banking, Treasury, and Project Finance searches throughout New York City and the broader Tri-State area.
For Nick, recruiting is a relationship, not a transaction. A candidate may not be right for an opportunity today, and a client may not have an immediate hiring need, but that doesn’t make the relationship any less valuable. Careers change, organizations evolve, and sometimes finding the right match is simply a matter of staying connected until the timing is right.
Outside of work, Nick has a strong interest in emerging technology, particularly VR, AR, and XR hardware. He enjoys keeping up with new technology, experimenting with immersive experiences, and is an avid PC gamer. Nick holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from SUNY Oneonta.
